Prestigious Award For Professor Reed

The Royal Society, has awarded Professor Graham T. Reed a Wolfson Research Merit Award for his outstanding research work. Jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award recognises talented scientists of outstanding achievement and potential.

professor reedGraham received his award for his research into ‘Silicon Photonics for the 21st Century’. Professor Reed says: “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be selected for a prestigious Wolfson Research Merit Award, especially given the long list of previous eminent recipients. It will enable me to continue the development of Silicon Photonics at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at Southampton. My group joined Southampton just over two years ago and we have made some important progress, and we look forward to continuing that work with the support from the Royal Society.”
